FEESSome people mistakenly use the inspection fee as the only gauge in making their choice of a home inspector. Typically, the fees charged by home inspectors can vary by $50 to $100. To
put this into perspective consider that the purchase of a home may be the single
largest investment you will ever make. When compared to the tens and hundreds of
thousands of dollars you are spending for your new home an additional few
dollars to obtain a thorough, professional home inspection is an inconsequential
amount of money to spend in order to protect that investment. My base fee for a house up to 2,200 sq ft is $250 and for a condominium or town home up to 1,200 sq ft is $225. Homes with a crawlspace and older homes have an additional fee because they take longer (sometimes a lot longer) both to inspect and to report on. Properties more than a 30-mile drive from my office may have a small additional fee added for travel.
